I survived the Edge - I did NOT love it but I did it.......

We arrived back in Melbourne Sunday night and jumped into a taxi and headed to Eureka Tower to do " the edge". I really didn't want to do it but Chas said he wouldn't if I didn't and I knew how much he wanted to so I braved it. Liked the view out but couldn't stand looking down at the floor and as for walking on the glass NO thanks. We headed to Southbank for dinner at the world then back to the Mantra and headed home Monday morning ready for work.

Blue skies and the Tassie Midlands

Reality bites it's time to head home and leave this little patch of perfection. Managed to find a hotel room in Devonport to stay over and catch the boat early in the morning. Bruny put on a storm last night followed by a rainbow this morning. We set tom tom to Devonport via the midlands and spent some time wandering around Richmond and Ross. We have a great view of the Mersey River and the spirit of Tasmania from our balcony at the pub.

Bruny Island

Having a ball on "the Island". Spent yesterday exploring the cape and Lighthouse. The accommodation is "basic" but clean and comfortable and has a great shower. Today we headed over to Adventure Bay to do a boat cruise. It was awesome fun, went to the Friars to see the sea lions and out in the Southern Ocean to see albatross, shear waters but sadly no dolphins today. We did get wet in a squall from the south but unfortunately didn't shrink. Enjoy some of the photos I took on our journey.

Huon Valley heaven on earth

Had a good crossing last night -not too rough, great having a cabin. Arrived at Devonport at 0600 and got to Cataract Gorge around 0830, had breaky overlooking the Gorge and called in to see Karen at Karen's Kupboard then hit the road south. We took the A1 to Hobart apart from a couple of deviations to look at different places - always interesting - check the pics for the horse riding dog on a goat track we ended up on trying to get back to the A1.Finally arrived at the Kermandie Hotel around 4pm and just managed to get a room. Off to Bruny in the morning.

Meet "dog" our new traveling companion, this is his first trip since Fryerstown where we found him.

The rock to saulsalito

played tourist yesterday, caught the ferry to Alcatraz, awesome place only 12 acres but it's 12 acres of nothing. It was freezing especially on the open bus so we both bought jackets. Then we jumped back on the bus over the Golden gate bridge and headed to Saulsalito for a very late lunch. The food was soooooo good, then back to Union Sqaure for some last minute shopping at Victoria's secret, Macy's and of course my fave Old Navy.
