It was still pouring when we woke up. We had decided not to go back through Canberra so headed up towards Nowra to check out the coast. We stopped at the lighthouse at Ulladulla, it was fine ---- when we started down the track ---- just as we were about to head back it bucketed down, we got saturated on the way back to the car, my wollen coat was so wet the water was running onto the floor of the car, my pants were wet to the waste. The weather was so appalling we decided we would just head over the pass and get going. The rain was so heavy it was really hard to see. The pass was quite lovely and had some surprises for us, Grandpas Shed at Fitzroy falls was a real find the public toilets at the falls where they wanted to charge us for parking the car --- WHAT THE? ----, I loved the Hampden Bridge, was amazed at the idiot in the black sports car that roared past us accelarating downhill, what scenery I could actually see through the rain storm was spectacular. We were 250 k's from Sydney which made us laugh - if someone had asked us to drive to Sydney we would have tole them they were mad. We arrived at Gundagai and rebooked into the Tuckerbox Motor Inn - this little motel is a real gem, the rooms are HUGE and it has the best shower on earth, we had stayed there night one and were going to head to Albury but the lure of the shower was too much, and the best of all it's only $80 a night. We had arrived on Sunset and I was madly clicking away while poor old dh unpacked the car.
