Alnwick castle was very special, for any Harry Potter fan everywhere you looked seemed familiar. I couldn't resist the white owl he looked so at home on the castle wall.
oh WOW!!!! fantastic photos, great to hear about all you've been up to - makes me feel quite homesick for Ye Olde Englande.....aren't those narrow cobblestone streets just the best - you can imagine yourself hundreds of years ago wandering along them - although nowadays we can emjoy them with the benefit of no disgusting smells and germs!!!!!! Wonderful that you found Chas' grandparents graves, what an incredible moment that must have been. Stonehenge is an awesome place but a shame they've had to stop you getting close to the stones - we used to wander among them at will when I was a teenager......too many years ago, haven't been to Avesbury (?? correct name) but will certainly try for it next time I go over. Sounds like you're having the most incredible time - you won't want to come back. ENjoy the rest of your trip, look forward to reading more about your adventures. Fran
