I wanted to let my 50th birthday slip by with little fuss, my mate Margie wouldn't have it so organized dinner with a couple of other friends, Ange and Joan. It was a great night, no fuss, no pressure just good mates sharing a meal, a laugh and a drink. Life doesn't get any better. This birthday has been hard - not because I turned 50 - hell I say bring it on - but because Gero isn't here to share it with me. We always had a laugh about our birthdays - I'm only 3 months older but for those 3 months she always gave me hell. We had planned to celebrate our 50th's in a big way - but it wasn't to be - we lost Gero in a car accident 20 months ago and I miss her, but she would have enjoyed tonight - of course it would have been later and louder if she'd been there.
So enjoy every minute with your true friends, laugh often and spend as much time together as you can get away with. Thanks girls I love you
